MoveAbout Immersion Program

The MoveAbout Immersion Program is a five-day immersion experience designed for therapists who want to gain hands-on experience in a private paediatric occupational therapy setting, and learn about the MoveAbout style of clinical environment.

The MoveAbout approach to OT incorporates a relationship-based and bottom to top approach, in order to support children and families to reach their functional goal. The core tenants of this approach include providing the family with education, consultation and direct treatment strategies, focused on supporting the person, their environment and their occupation (functional tasks and activities).

What do you get?

Observe a variety of clients, clinicians, spaces, tools, and techniques during the five-day program (including clinical sessions, at least one assessment, and clinical group supervision).
5 individual sessions with MoveAbout team members to learn our intake, assessment, treatment planning, and goal-setting approach.

Who is it for?

New graduate paediatric therapists who have not been able to have a student fieldwork placement in private paediatric occupational therapy.
Paediatric therapists who are not currently receiving onsite supervision or support.
Paediatric therapists who would like to experience a MoveAbout style clinical environment.

Why MoveAbout?

MoveAbout Therapy Services have been supporting kids and families for 15 years, since 2008. We have three clinics, in Sydney (Bella Vista), Central Coast (Berkeley Vale) and Newcastle/Lake Macquarie (Warners Bay) regions. Lifelong learning has been a core value since we began, and we achieve this through weekly 1:1 clinical supervision, weekly group supervision, Master Clinician sessions with leaders from the US and Canada, and plenty of internal and external professional development.

What is the cost?

The program runs over five days in one week, or five single days across five separate weeks and costs $1974.50 (GST inc).
An initial payment of $990 is required one month prior to the Immersion. Immediate access to "A Dynamic Approach to Regulation and Behaviour" will be provided once the initial payment is received.
The remaining $984.50 must be paid in full prior to the Immersion experience.
